Lenovo is planning to enter the wearable arena with its own smartband, according to the FCC listing certification, the Lenovo Smart Band SWB100 is a fitness band with rectangular display similar to Gear Fit but, not curved. Just like other wearable in the market the Lenovo SWB100 will be able to receive messages such as text and incoming calls, and other notifications, but just like other wearables right now in the market the Lenovo Smart Band will focus more on fitness features, it will be able to track your distance measurement, calorie, a pedometer, it also has a sleep tracker and also provides time and data on physical activity.
The new smartband will try to compete with Gear Fit and our favorite Jaw Bone, so far it is somewhat similar to other wearables based on the listing it will also have a heart rate monitor, as well as an alarm clock and sleep mode, with integrated vibration.
So far it will not follow the likes of Motorola, LG and ASUS, the Lenovo Smart Band will not run the Android Wear operating system instead it is possible that it will have its own custom made operating system on the SWB100 smart band with pre designed apps that will be compatible with iOS, Android and Windows somewhat like Pebble. It will connect via Bluetooth 4.0 LE and will have IP67 certification for resistance to liquids and dust. So far, so good with the battery, it will have seven days of normal usage according to the report.
