Sony on Androidwear, Not Yet for our Smartwatches

There is a slight hiccup in the marathon of Androidwear in smartwatch as Sony according to the report says that they are not interested with Androidwear to integrate it with their smartwatch for now, they will not follow the likes of HTC, Motorola and LG, instead they will still used their own version of Android for their smartwatches, instead of migrating to the new modified operating system by Google the Android Wear.

But hinted that they will still work with Google to improve their products running Android, Sony is one of the first company to released a smartwatch long before any other companies such as Samsung, now that a AndroidWear is available for the developers, still Sony will stick with their own Android based smartwatch platform.

We’ve already invested time and resources on this platform, and we will continue in that direction,” Ravi Nookala, head of Sony Mobile’s U.S,

This might be a slight hiccup for Androidwear and a tell tale that some companies might thinking the same thing or it might serve as a domino effect and other companies might be reluctant to implement Androidwear in their smartwatch instead focusing on their own Android based O.S that they have been using in their previous smartwatches or they might plan to use Tizen instead.

So far it’s too early to say if what will be the status of Androidwear in the smartwatch industry as everyone is still in the wait and see game in this new technology.
